swapped a 14b turbo to by 2g, everything seems to work fine but i cant lower the boost below 15 psi. i have a mbc and after loosening it all the way i finally took the spring and ball completely out. still holds 15psi. bad wastgate? bov? i do have slight boost leak around the injectors. ive heard that its normal for leakage into the crankcase on a static test. whats a static test? the way i did it is with a capped off radiator hose and valve stem and tested it from the turbo intake. i could hear it leaking through the oil drain tube. so i did it from the lower ic pipe and everything else was ok besides the minor injector seal barely leaking which i can fix. but everything worked normal before the swap.

one last problem im having is with the car dieing if i press the clutch in after higher rpms (above like 3500 rpm) if i dont immediatly downshift or dont let the rpms come down below 3500 or so before i press the clutch it will die. this started after the turbo swap also. if the o2 sensor was bad would it cause that? im pretty sure the o2 is bad. my a/f gauge reads lean until let off the throttle then it bounces to rich and back to lean. i checked all the wiring to the gauge and o2 connections. sensor may have been exposed to brake cleaner and penetrating oil during the swap cause everything worked fine before the swap. i also eliminated the egr valve if that could cause the problem but i didnt have any problems with the other turbo. the only thing on this site i could find for this is a bad speed sensor but it still dies without using the brakes or turning. when i start the car on a cold day it idles around 1200 rpm until its warmed up a little which i figure is normal. a vfaq link to setting the timing would be helpful also. my warm idle is slightly lower than normal 550 - 600.

I'm at work so I didn't have much time to read your post.. but it sounds like you have a bad wastegate.

attach an aircompressor to your wastegate nipple and put some air into it.. see if the wastegate is opening and closing.

may sounds like a "duh", but make sure your wastegate arm is attached to your flapper arm

in addition to the flapper arm make sure that the vaccum line from the wastegate it running to the intake track, so that the wastegate is open. if its never open you can run "infinite" boost. whereas a open wastegate alows you to limit the boost.

Your idle is too low, If you turn it up a little it should help with the dieing problem.
If you do not know how, It is the little flathead screw(BISS SCREW)on top of the Throttle body.

As for the uncontrollable boost, make sure your mbc is not turned around or broke, double check the vac line for a leak or tear, going from the mbc to the waste gate actuator.

i double checked all the vac lines and completely removed the ball and spring from the mbc so there is now no restriction in the mbc at all which "should" lower my boost to around 6-8 psi..
well its still hitting around 15-16 psi.. i havent checked the wastgate yet other than the arm is connected but wouldnt i be running even higher boost if were screwed up? or could the problem be that its only partially opening? the car runs great. 16psi is where i want it to be and everything seems up to par but something isnt right. its temporarily a daily driver and i dont really want to be running 16 psi all the time. now that i think about it, it has the be the wastegate... if there is no restriction from the intake to the wastegate, and the wastegate worked, it would be impossible to run 16 psi because anything over 6-8 psi and the wastegate should be open right? i just dont get why im not getting more boost then that if the wastegate isnt opening... seems to me like i should be gettin mad spool, suckin mad air, and hitting fuel cut.

Have you tried disconnecting the mbc and running the wastegate completely open? Taking the arm off of the flapper....
