swapped a 14b turbo to by 2g, everything seems to work fine but i cant lower the boost below 15 psi. i have a mbc and after loosening it all the way i finally took the spring and ball completely out. still holds 15psi. bad wastgate? bov? i do have slight boost leak around the injectors. ive heard that its normal for leakage into the crankcase on a static test. whats a static test? the way i did it is with a capped off radiator hose and valve stem and tested it from the turbo intake. i could hear it leaking through the oil drain tube. so i did it from the lower ic pipe and everything else was ok besides the minor injector seal barely leaking which i can fix. but everything worked normal before the swap.
one last problem im having is with the car dieing if i press the clutch in after higher rpms (above like 3500 rpm) if i dont immediatly downshift or dont let the rpms come down below 3500 or so before i press the clutch it will die. this started after the turbo swap also. if the o2 sensor was bad would it cause that? im pretty sure the o2 is bad. my a/f gauge reads lean until let off the throttle then it bounces to rich and back to lean. i checked all the wiring to the gauge and o2 connections. sensor may have been exposed to brake cleaner and penetrating oil during the swap cause everything worked fine before the swap. i also eliminated the egr valve if that could cause the problem but i didnt have any problems with the other turbo. the only thing on this site i could find for this is a bad speed sensor but it still dies without using the brakes or turning. when i start the car on a cold day it idles around 1200 rpm until its warmed up a little which i figure is normal. a vfaq link to setting the timing would be helpful also. my warm idle is slightly lower than normal 550 - 600.
