Like the title says I just decided to up the boost and run 17psi :) Problem is that I'm on a 14b still. I was going to keep the boost to 16psi but it wouldn't make sense because I'm adding a 2g mas and 550cc. As for cooling I was going to buy a supra sidemount. Should I worry about anything breaking???
Headgasket :notgood:
Turbo
The car is GREAT working condition. 160 compression across the board :thumb:
Any input.
Sorry for the lame thread

beleive it or not, the 1g dsms are capable of running 20 PSI. You should be fine, i would get a boost controller just for consistency, a bigger fuel pump would go good with that as well. :thumb:

Yes i agree a bigger fuel pump is a good coice also you may want to look into a dsm link so you can keep an eye on things and get the most out of you toon. Hope this helps :thumb:

Don't listen to this guy, you don't need dsmlink right now and wont need it unless you plan on being pretty fast. A safc will be just fine and you will need it or some other tuning tool to compensate for the injectors. And as said before get a better fuel pump. If you get the 255lph get an adjustable afpr also.

you cant just install larger injectors and drive away. you need something to compensate for their added flow.

if you go the safc route you will need something to log and monitor the cars status. id go with a palm m505 and pocketlogger software.

unless you have a nice laptop available, then id say go straight to dsmlink and never look back.

also youll need a fuel pump. if your never going to go any farther than the 14b(or a 16g later on), a 190lph would be sufficient for your needs, and it doesnt need a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, since the stock fpr can handle the 190. but if you ever go with a larger turbo(50 trim) and larger injectors, youll need more fuel pump, and will have to get a 255 and a aeromotive fpr. but it sounds like thats not in your goals.

and a supra smic will be great for a 14b. itll perform better than the stocker, while still keeping that stock look. a supra smic can handle up to 20psi on a 16g without soaking too much. anymore than that, and youll need a fmic.

and the stock head gasket is fine to 25psi. though you shouldnt be running that much anyways, unless youre great at tuning, or on race gas at the track. 20psi will be sufficient for your needs, any more, and youll need some more support.

Hey guys thanks for the respones. I already have a 190lph, 550cc injector and a safc ;) I was just asking you guys what would be a resonable boost level. I guess I can run 17 psi and be fine.
Thanks

Ahhhhh... I love reading the threads before I post questions. :thumb:

Im the same here with a 14b & was concerned about boost levels as well. but I have another question to add to this... How much PSI can I push into the motor on the stock 450's & fuel pump? I have an S-AFC & 3" exhaust. Thats it for go faster mods....

:talon:

BTW, I'm a 90 Talon TSi AWD...

A friend of mine ran 20 psi on his 14b all day for a very l9ong time and then sold the car so i think your 17 is just fine.
