Turbo conversion

Hello this is my first day at DSM. im excited to hear from knowlegdeable people with some insight to day to day questions.

well i just got a 1998 Eclipse RS with a N/T 420a with 80,000 miles on it for $350USD . the only thing it had was that the timing belt broke and needed a new water pump. so i replaced both and now runs great.

so my ? is what are the cheapest mods can i start with for my car so it can be quicker?
what are the required parts for a stage 1 turbo conversion?

Stage 1 turbo conversion WTF ???? can you point me to the definition of the "stages" of performance? I'm not into the video gaming part of automotive modification . . .

Turbo kits for the 420 motor is expensive. Good luck.

i would advise against slapping a turbo on that motor, just use it as a DD and buy a GST/X and make it into a project.....DON'T FORGET TO RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING ANY CAR!!!!!!!
