Hey guys, I'm having trouble setting my SAFC with my new injectors. I've done some searches and can't find a good answer. My mods are as followed: Big 16g turbo, 2g manifold, ACT clutch, MBC, K&N, 3" Apexi turbo-back exhaust, PTE 660cc injectors, SAFC, Walbro 255HP, Buschur AFPR~@33psi w/ vacuum line attached and 37 psi without. Right now I have the settings set at about -27% across the board. I can't log it because I seem to be having problems with my diagnostic port and I'm waiting for my wideband to come in this week. I just wanted to know if my settings are ok or if they can be tuned better. Please, any info would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.- My friend mentioned that he saw a couple of sparks at low throttle from my exhaust. Not sure if that was just unspent gas in the system. Just an FYI.

Sparks are usually carbon deposits flaking off from inside your cylinder/exaust manifold.
Id personally 0 out your afc till you get a logger that works/wb. If you dont have a chip to compensate for ## injectors, then leaning out ## afc is going to skyrocket your timing. My car with 650s at 23psi shoudl be fine, but since i didnt have a chip, i was getting 31deg ta at 23psi...yea, it knocked alll OVER the place.

I can't "0" out my SAFC, that's the problem. If I put the values to all zeroes I will be running entirely too rich. That's the reason I started the thread. I just want values that I can input that won't harm my motor until I get my wideband or fix my diagnostic port.

I'd take a closer look at my AFPR if I were you. 1Gs are supposed to be running at 36-38psi fuel with the vac off, and 26-28psi with the vac on at idle (20 in/Hg). You're over-pressuring the system, along with having the larger injectors. Definite recipe for running rich.

What altitude are you at? Have you checked for a vac leak? If you aren't drastically above sea level, it sounds like you have a pretty big one if the vac line is only dropping the fuel pressure by 6psi.
What does your vac/boost gauge read at idle?

I took a closer look at the guage and I'm at about 30 psi w/ the vacuum line on on my AFPR..on my boost guage i'm only reading 10in of vacuum.. Any ideas?

I know zeroing out the SAFC will be way too rich. So what you should do until you can tune with the wideband is put it at like -10, or something pig rich that will allow the car to still run. Make a pull, and you probably know what it sounds like and how it runs when it's too rich. Lean it out a little, and make another pull. I'd keep it to where it's slightly acting too rich, but something you can live with, until you tune with the wideband.

Short version, find your vacuum leak and fix it. Until then, turn down the fuel pressure a bit (say between 28-30psi with vac) and don't drive too aggressively until the problem is resolved. It'll run right under normal driving conditions at that point, though the tune will be off.

Most likely a hose that just worked its way off the nipple, was forgotten, or picked up a tear. :D

Do the following:

1. Leak test

2. Fix leaks

3. Set FP correctly

4. Set SAFC TPS trigger points to 30% and 80%

5. Set all Ne Points to -12% across both high and low fuel maps.

6. Drive conservatively until you get your logger fixed. :thumb:

At -12% you will be running rich, but it will be fine to "limp around" on. I drove about 150 miles at -12% on the low throttle map when I had a bad O2 sensor. This was right after the injectors were installed and there was no way for me to set the lo throttle map using the FT's.

Enjoy!
