no need for high dollar race valve for me...I agree totally with you!! I have had no problems what so ever with my Type-S, and if you know WHAT your doing you won't have any problems adjusting it. It's usually the people that don't know what there doing that usually have the damn problems. Anyways... the 1g bov 3/4 of the time will leak past 18 psi period. I got rid of mine for that very reason, because the FP big28 that I run is just starting to come alive at 17 to 18 psi. I believe if I'm not mistaken, Dejon tool makes a kit for the 1g bov which enables it to hold more boost, but if your thinking about crushing it then your just jimmy rigging it, which in IMO is pure CRAP. Bottom line is... the stock 1g bov is good for boost levels of 18 psi and lower.98spydert said:The 1G is all fine and dandy for those of you with mild modifications but how about those of use running over 20psi? That 1G CBV has been said to leak around 18 psi more than a few times. I've never had problems with my type S... Read the instructions, understand what happens inside and it's as simple as can be.

The Oring is often the culprit of non-adjustability, replace it with a high quality Viton O'ring and things will be more consistant . The o-ring failed twice on the one I had. My budy is still replacing oring in his every other month... I sold it..
I'm sure once they are anjusted thier fine... but damn...
I swear if 1G BOV's were Anodized Blue or Red and polished instead of being Russian Army Green, This conversation would not exist. Get a 1G valve/ polish it and be done...
The Ajdustability and piss poor internals is the source of most of the problems with typeS and considering the fact that the 1G vavle is PROVEN to work, has no adjustment and holds the boost levels most of you are running, Its beyond me why someone would pay $$ for those "Greddy" valves other than bling factor and getting a "Greddy' vynil sticker to put ont he car. Nothin says POWER like a Greddy sticker right? The best valves on the market and those that are being equiped in new cars are surprisingly similar to the design/function of the 1G valves. To each his own. I run Dual 1G BOV'sno need for high dollar race valve for me...
My 2...
