I recently purchased one of these on ebay. I specifically asked the seller (who is supposedly a trustworthy one) if the downpipe was a full 3", in which he replied, "yes". Now that I've gotten the downpipe, I see that the first part of the downpipe (the curved part) is right around 2.5" diameter, and then it widens to a 3". To say the least, I'm not happy, but do you think its worth the trouble returning/exchanging for the extra width?

I wanted to also verify (this may be a dumb question) that the downpipe diameter is measured from tip to tip because the guy told me that it was 3'' the whole way, which would seemingly imply that the entire piping is a 3'' diameter. The thing I'm confused about, however, is... how would a 3" downpipe even connect to the stock 02 housing? Wouldn't it be too large of an opening on the downpipe? The size of the opening on the downpipe that I bought seems to fit over the 02 housing just right, but if i bought a 3'' 02 housing, the downpipe opening would be too small.

I bought the same downpipe on ebay and I am very happy with it. You can see in the ad pictures that it is not 3" the whole way. They make the first 2 1/2" so that it can bolt up to the stock o2 housing. I had a very nice power gain from it and I have had it almost a year and I haven't had problems with the flex section like a lot of downpipes. Very good product, but the guy should have told you that the down pipe starts off at 2 1/2 and goes to 3".

And what about if I decide to buy a 3'' 02 housing? Will it still bolt up?

And still, if you were to have a 2.5 inch inlet, and then it widens to 3", how are you gaining any more flow than if it were 2.5" the whole way? It's only accepting 2.5 inches worth of exhaust flow from the beginning, so why wouldn't it end in 2.5 inches of exhaust flow?

Hey I just got the Tsudo N1 3" catback, and it bolted up fine and all, but its surprisingly pretty quiet. Did their downpipe make your car any louder at all?

my car is very loud. I have the tsudo down pipe, ported 2g o2 housing, 3" piping, and a magnaflow muffler. It sounds very deep and mean.
