I was wondering if a 97-99 conversion can be done on a TSI, I am asking because im getting a car soon and seeing how the gsx and gst are more expensive (i looked at edmunds and autotrader), they were all over 9 thousand for the ones under 100k miles. So the gsx and gst have the same engine as the TSI (4G63) and im not sure about the all wheel drive tho. so can some one who has done this before or knows can you please tell me if i can get TSI to look like 79-99 2g, and if so will it be very noticible, because the TSI has very different headlights and taillights then the 99-97

OF TOPIC QUESTION: Is TSI AWD?

Since we're not supposed to say 'Search' I'll give you some input, since I have a TSI AWD that's got 97-99 Eclipse components...
Bottom line: yes.
Some advice/input: get the headlights (they're fairly cheap on Ebay) for a 97-99 eclipse; get the bumper cover for a 97-99 eclipse as well (again, fairly cheap).

From there, it's your choice. There are ample posts on here about side skirts from the various models that you can choose (not counting aftermarket); rear bumper conversions, spoiler removal (and/or putting on the low or high rise Eclipse spoiler)...

In my case I'm most of the way done with what I'm doing: 97-99 eclipse front bumper; Kombat side skirts (need the 97-99 door panels from an Eclipse to make them smooth!); blacked out center panel and a Turbo eclipse spoiler...mixing and matching to your personal preference is probably the way to go, and the best way to do that is take a look through the galleries and posts to see what you like and what you want.

Heres what mine looks like in progress, hope it helps...

what do you mean by the bumper cover?

Bumper cover = what most people call the "bumper". It's really called the bumper cover because the real bumper is the hard beam mounted to the car that the "bumper" covers.

if you do convert be prepared to have some bracket problems. With the rear bumber for sure. The bracket that holds on the top of the bumper for a talon is so different from a eclipse. Its not soo easy. i did my rear conversion last weekend. it took me nine hours becasue bolts break and spaces are messed up and i did it by myself. But good luck
