Well shit get ready for some 1:10's if I take the "grass shortcut". I always assumed these challenges meant staying on the track at all times excusing any minor mis-steps. Shortcutting should be illegal, just like in real racing.

thats why this is a game :p

i forgot to mention, driver aids not allowable.

I had forgotten all about this "challenge".

I will not be participating since off-tracking is allowed (not allowed in real life), drivers aids are not (allowed in real life), and it seems to be a "make up the rules as we go" thing.

Have fun guys.

WTF so the rules are relaxed enough to let me cut through the grass, but I can't use a little traction control on my 1000hp viper WTF

Nevermind then.

sorry, i did not mean to make it look as makeing up the rules as I go, its just that aI havent fully stated the rules in the first place because somehow in my mnd all of the were already accepted as if everyone knew. Lets do it this way, post up times with off trackin and tracking and with traction control and without. I will try with the rx7 when i get home to not cut throught he grass

Well all my times are with staying on track, dual shock 2 controller, and usually a setting of 1 on the traction control setting. I don't believe in using the understeer/oversteer settings.

cool, I will try tonight with not cutting the grass, sorry for the misunderstanding,

I use the dualshock 2 as well. :thumb:

No shortcuts guys, its too easy to just cut thru the grass. I also never use any driving aids except downforce. Cheaters! :p

If F1 drivers need it to stay uber-competitive, I don't see any shame in using it. Hell try and drive that torque monster of a Viper around that bumpy track. Even the slightest bump will spin the tires a little with the traction control on 1. With it off you've got snap oversteer anytime you sneeze in the general direction of the throttle. Add to that the instant loss of traction you get with the Super Soft slicks as opposed to the more progressive harder compounds and you soon have a twitchy, nearly uncontrollable monster of a car on your hands.
