Sherwood park,
I am in the process of removing the last bolt , all the other ones have been removed. But I noticed in the "How To" of removing it that the person has removed his downpipe. Now I have a different turbo and there is no o2 bolts that I can remove. So my question is, as hard as it is right now to get at that bolt do I have to remove the downpipe.

My only concern is how I wont be able to get out the whole pipe because it is one peice from the turbo to the resonator.

Appreciate your help, pictures to follow!

No, I just had to unbolt the down pipe from my o2 housing, that flex pipe allowed me to move it out of the way for a second and i slid it right off.

On my car you have to remove the bolts holding the downpipe so you can slide the x-fercase off. My downpipe and Cat are welded together so you have to pry it out of the way as you pull the case off. I don't know about your downpipe, but I bet you do. Good luck:thumb:

Try just unbolting it from the o2 housing and see if that gives you enough play to remove the transfer case. Either way, removing the entire downpipe takes 3 minutes extra so its not a big deal.

No o2 housing, and it has a 5 bolt hotside I wouldn't even consider there to be a downpipe its all welded... just stumped what to do right now.

When you say "hotside", are you referring to the flange connecting to the turbine housing? Many people say "hotside" to describe the turbine housing itself (the exhaust side of the turbocharger). Usually on garrett-based turbo's the 5 bolt flange you are describing can just be unbolted, and then you can undo the two bolts connecting the downpipe to the cat and just remove the entire unit.
