The transfer case on my 90 FWD Laser Turbo broke when i had my 2100 Clutch in the car. I also noticed when changing into a new tranny that the upper, firewall side clutch-block mounting hole was broken off and is missing.
The old tranny is still usable as long as i could fix the crack. Whenever the clutch pedal is pressed down the tranny seperates from the block where the crack is. Could i somehow like clamp the crack closed and maybe weld it back together or could i make a plate or something to keep it together. All internals were fine when the tranny was last used before the case cracked.
As for the engine block, i would really like to have all 4 bolts holding the tranny onto the car and not just 3. Any ideas on how to fabricate or an idea to keep the tranny to the block. I really don't have the money to buy a new tranny and a new block for the car.

Do you mean your bell housing cracked? If you have a FWD car you don't have a transfer case. As for fixing it a shop should be able to weld it up and it will be fine. My bellhousing is cracked by the slave cylinder and I was just going to weld it I will let you know how this goes when I get my car running again.

Ah shit that's why i meant the bell housing. Sheesh i feel dumb but yeah the bell housing on the transmission is cracked. Sorry bout that. I'm probably just gonna weld it together with maybe a supporting plate or something.

you'll need to have that piece of your block welded back on or replace it with another block. if the piece is missing on the transmission then you'd need to do the same. either replace the transmission or weld it back on. i suppose you could just replace the bellhousing but have it done by a professional to make sure that the gears and housings are shimmed properly. i broke off the front tranny mount on the block of my fwd and had it succesfully stick welded back on. just make double sure you have everything lined up absolutely perfect when you weld that mount back on or you'll kill tranny's left and right since the input shaft won't be 100% centered.
