Trans not shifting after build?

my trans is not shifting after I rebuild the motor. Its an auto trans and it was shifting fine before rebuild and it shifts in to drive and reverse and park but when in drive it does not shift. I dont know a single thing about transmissions the fluid is new and so is the filter.

Have you check the oil level?.

Unplug and plug all the connectors at the transmission to make sure that all the connectors are making a good contact.

Also, did you make sure that you insert the Converter all the way in.

Because, if you didn't then your Converter is fried.

the fluid level is exactly where it should be and yes the converter is seated all the way there are 2 connections on the transmission that have the exact same connector, which one is suppose to go in which side one is a blue and the other is red its an auto trans for a 420a motor. would the torque converter casue it not to shift at all, or just from 1st to 4th cause the trans goes in to park and neutral and drive and the 1 and 2 gears on the column . The trans just doesnt shift while driving.

so no one has any ideas on whats going on or why my trans goes from shifting fine to install to not shifting at all?
