I was just wondering if anyone has ever put a trans break on one f my cars and if so how hard was it what did u have to do and how much would it cost or did it cost? Thanks for the info :talon:

From my understanding a "transbrake" would be equivalent to you getting a TMO chip with the clutch wire. You can use the stutterbox feature to hold the revs at a certain point while building load for the flywheel and boost for the turbo.

A transbrake is used mainly for tire warm up- wouldnt really work on AWD but for FWD :thumb: it would hold the rear brakes solid so you could drop the clutch and spin the tires(without going anywhere) so theyd be nice and sticky for launching.

Another use is for when your launching you can hold the button for the transbrake(mount on steering wheel or shifter) while you hold the clutch in and rev the throttle, eliminating the need the heel toe the brake and gas as not to roll foward or back.

And the TMO chip and clutch wire, that is for shifting- read from www.TMO.com

Clutch cut, or "stutterbox" - Mitsubishi in their wildest dreams could have never conceived of this one! With the simple addition of a single wire to the clutch switch, the ECU will temporarily lower the rev limiter a preset amount whenever the clutch is depressed. This means the engine speed will automatically decrease when the clutch is used for shifting, allowing you to keep the throttle planted firmly on the floor between shifts. This leads to faster shifts and less turbo spool up time after the shift.

Hope that helps~

All wrong sorry.

A trans break is not used for burnouts and is not the same as a TMO stage three. A linelock it what you are thinking about. It allows you to set either the front or rear brakes only so that the other brakes are free to move.

A two step, or stutterbox, will not work on a car that is auto only manual so again not a trans brake.

A trans brake actually locks the tranny in between two gears, usually first and reverse, so that the engine will be in its powerband at launch. You have to get a special converter for a brake that is talor made for you car and motor combo and what RPM you want it at. When you release the trans brake it is like dumping the clutch on a car with a manual gear box. You also have to have a manual valve body for a trans brake and thats why most cars with an auto that are street driven dont have one.
