lets start off by saying i have an aeromotive afpr at my house, i just gotta order the install kit.

since my last time at the track which was a 12.9@105 ive upgraded my injectors from 550's to 650's, 190 to 255 lph pump, 1g throttle body, and a logger so ive been tuning with my safc2. made a trip back to the track the other night, and on 93 pump gas @21.5 psi i could only pull a couple 13.1's @106 and 107 mph. wtf? i will say it was about 15-20 degrees warmer out on this night and ive been having to kinda baby the tranny when shiofting from 1st to second, so i think those played a big factor.

i put in some 117 octane and pulled 3 consecutive 12.8's @108 mph. my best which i will post a slip to later was a 12.800 @ 108.84 mph. anywho what im getting to here is do u think that maybe cause im overrrunning my stock fpr that its hurting performance? im getting 50 psi fuel pressure at idle. and the only thing i could think of that would hurt is my gas mileage when just cruising, and the possibility of it leaning out a bit up top end which is not happening according to my logger and o2 voltages. anyone have any input? thanks :dsm:

Well You car is making more power then before because your MPH is up, so either your had bad launches or shitty driving to make your ET's slower.

And 50 base is to high, slap on the AFPR and your car will be happier :thumb:

nah, my 60 foots were good, 1.8's and 1.7's. it was just shifting coming out of a launch and trying to shift to second, i cant quick shift anymore going from 1st to second. i have to shift a lil slower, ease it in. i think thats where i lost my time. but the other gears i can rip right through like usual :thumb:

The Walbro is overrunning the stock regulator.

I think the time difference is simply driving.

put the AFPR on, I just installed one along with a 255lph pump, the thing pumps a goddam waterfall.

You can get a kit from fuelinjectorclinic.com for 115$, or go buy the parts at the store for maybe 25$ less than that

Install the AFPR and you won't have to screw around with stupid tuning tricks at low rpms. Simple as that. If you have to wait a little bit and are worried about the extra fuel, don't worry. It's not optimal but running a little rich isn't going to hurt anything.

The 255 is a good pump, nothing wrong with overdoing it on the fuel. But the stock regulator can't bypass the flow back to the tank that's required at idle with a 255, even when it's not rewired. AFPR is just one more piece to a complete (and thoughtful) fuel system.

Although, there are ways around it but I'm sure the AFPR is the easiest.
