Hey guys, I got an eclipse gst lowered with tokico blue struts and h&r springs but it's too low for my taste. I've searched and found eibach pro kit seems to work well for someone on a budget. Can I use the eibach prokit with my blue tokico struts or do I need new ones? About how low are the ones I have compared to stock springs and If you have a picture please post it I like to get an idea of it.

Stupid pic is upside down sorry[DOUBLEPOST=1410230018][/DOUBLEPOST]I will try and get a better pic tomorrow

Well it isn't it, but it won't go up on my driveway it will scrape trying to go up. I want it a little bit higher.

I don't know how low you are at the front. If you not sure what the exact height you want, you better off to get yourself sets of coilover.
I plan to get coilovers later on but for now I need at least 1 1/2inch drop from factory, cause it's too low for my driveway right now.
h@r springs make a 1.2 drop or eibach, tokico blue would be fine or tokico illumina or koni
sports or yellow.
which ones do you have on right now? I like that height. Will I need new struts if I get new springs?

No you shouldn't need new struts. Eibach kits ride well too. H & R ride harsh to me, just watch what you buy. I have 1" eibach springs on new KYB GR2 but they are for fwd. So my Awd is slammed. The bumper is 1.5 inch from the ground it sucks.

yeah I know what you mean, I have h&r on the car and it's harsh and too low. I'm going to try eibach springs for now and get coilovers later on. Thanks everyone!

Harshness/Stiffness of the springs can be determined by the spring rate. If HR springs are too stiff, I'd recommend going for a softer spring rate. I wrote something about it here: http://revvedallusion.com/2014/03/suspension-talk-part-1-springs/

Additionally, people on other forums have said that tokico shocks are rougher on the dampening side (vs. KYB and Koni).

I've personally always been a spring and shock guy myself (just bought my first set of coils for my daily after having 5 cars with a spring/shock combo). My Talon will definitely have a shock/spring combo.

Oh I see. May I ask what kind of coilovers did you get and how much? The springs will be temporary.

I agree with springs and shocks. My experience with coilovers has been terrible. Ksports ride terrible but they give the support you need for a high hp car. I've rode in a eibach ground control coil sleeve car, also rough. This one had KYB which are the softest of the struts. It's personal preference really.

yeah it's all comes down to preference. But I've read that the cheap coilovers setups sucks such as Megan's and some of the best coilovers are expensive but worth every penny. If I buy I coilovers I will stay away from Megan's and other cheap ones.

Suspension you get what you pay for. Seen many cheap coilovers lock up and blow out in a short time. Also ride very poorly.

Don't get me wrong, I have Tein Basis on an 05 TSX, and before that I has Tein H.Techs (.7" drop all around) on stock shocks. For the TSX, the coils do their job and very comfortable... but it's not going to win any auto-x events.

Historically, I've ran Tein S.Techs w/ Tokico Blue (HP) on an 01 Civic and 01 Celica... LOVED the ride. I've also had Eibach Sport on stock shocks on a 91 MR2 Turbo... a bit harsh, but a blast to drive; and another H.Tech/stock shock setup on an 05 Accord=Comfortable.

At the end of the day, it is all about the dampening ability of the shock and spring rate of the spring. Tokico blues (HP) are typically harsher, but that is why they have their Illumina series with adjustable damper. KYB also has the adjustable damper series... but the overall best shock is Koni Yellows (IMO). Additionally, the spring rates of H.Tech are a lot softer than the S.Tech and is made for a softer ride. Find the right combo between shock and spring, and you'll have a blast!

I plan on going back to the Tein H.Tech and Tokico Blues for the 95 Talon... I know the feel and just miss the ride, LOL.

Alright guys so I decided to stay with my tokico blue struts and H&R lowering springs for now. I'll get coilovers later on and not the cheap ones. Like @06legacygt said "you get what you paid for". I appreciate everyone's input!![DOUBLEPOST=1410388409][/DOUBLEPOST]New pic!! Haha couldn't get up!!

Beside, don't pay cheap coilover for parts that hold your car and find the one that u can trust it.
You're right!! I do my research before purchasing any aftermarket products or something as important as suspension! Thanks!!
