Toggling Stock Exaust to Open DP

This guy i know has a 97 tsi fwd, well he has a toggle switch inside his car that opens and closes some sort of door to run from stock exhaust to an open down pipe, it sounds badass, but i dont know the full extent. Would i get any boost creep running open dp on my t25, he has a 14b on his. has anyone ever heard of this, and can you give me a link or parts/materials needed, i want to do this, he said there are substantial hp gains.

I have the same thing, and I have to say that it is bad ass, but I do get a retarded amount of boost creep. I have a big 16g, and it hits fuel cut ~@ 5k rpms. go to www.quicktimeperformance.com for a good kit and help.
