Tires and wheels

Tires are your car's only contact with the asphalt, so having a better tire will improve acceleration, cornering, and braking. A worse tire will make those three things worse.

What size tire do you reccomend for those wheels? and what brand? im on a very tight budget

In my opinion the tire is a bit too low profile, but you could probably run it with no problems. It would make bumps feel a bit more pronounced, but you could live with it. The tires have a treadwear rating of 340 which isn't all that bad when talking about performance tires. The traction has an A rating as well as the temp, so those are good too. The treadwear rating is the main thing I consider when buying a tire as it will tell how long the tire will last. The higher the rating the longer wear you will get out of the tire. Compare treadwear ratings and you will be suprised to find some of the cheaper tires are just as good as some of the more expensive ones. ;) Anyway, I would say if you're on a budget those would be fine. I just always prefer a little more sidewall which is why I run 225/50-16's. The 16in tires are always cheaper and easier to find. I think the perfect rims/tires for our cars are 245/40-17's, but I can't afford those.LOL Hope this gives you somethings to go on. Those are a nice set of wheels/tires for that price.:D

Well i am just using the car as a daily driver. Im not gonna be really racing around corners much just the usual playin around and occasionaly beating those pesky hondas at stop lights and what not. These tires should be fine?

Those look niiiiiiiiiiice... I know absolutely nothing about tires though but the rims are tight.

Its actually usually the norm that the more expensive tires have a lower tread life rating. This is because you ususally pay more for a higher performance tire, which offers higher grip with a softer tread compound. The tradeoff for that extra grip is, like you say they wear faster.

If you were looking for a perforamce setup, I'd probably skip those tires but it doesn't sound like thats your goal & you still have an awd advantage, so they should atleast perform as well as an all season radil if not abit better. Only thing is I'd see if you could sub for a tire size a little wider. Looks like is comes with 205? Thats pretty small, I'd be looking for something more like 225 :thumb:

Ok i will get the 225/45/17 Nankang NS1's... not much more expensive.. maybe $40

Nankangs are actually a good tire, a good tire for the money. I run the cheaper ones on my honda because there cheap, and we run the better ones our 12 sec 06 GTO, because they hook.
