got a haynes manual but its not to clear. well it is but i think i might have missed something. i am doing a head gasket on my spyder gst and i think i might have screwd up the timing. when the timing belt was on i put the piston at TDC. now do i have to time the other marks for sure?the marks behind the ully? as of now the head is off, so when i put the head back on how will i time everything back to be in sync? if i get get the steps to timing that would be very much apriciated. thanks for all the help

p.s i have no time to look for this so please no harsh comments. i am very busy and in a hell of a rush. thanks again.

the way that i timed itwas by turning the gears on the cams.on top of the head.not by turning anything on the block.if one i turn the cams would thhe timing be set? and do i just inspect to see if the marks are timed already?
 
Here's an update, the belt was cought on something. What ever happend the metal behind the camshaft sprocket is bent. It goes through a sensor.how can I get the sprocket off?

Yes that's bad. Remove the 17mm bolt, pull the cam sprocket off, and see if the dowel pin in the cam broke off.
 
after reading all of this it sounds like you need to pull the head off. Time to get dirty and pull out the pocketbook. With all that you have described it sounds like you at minimal bent/broke some valves.our cars are zero tolerance motors. That means in simple terms that if the timing is off to far The pistons will hit the valves.
