ECMlink Timing Jumping at Idle?!

How old is your o2 sensor? I don't like the way it is cycling ( way too fast ) . And what is going on with the wb? Add some more of global dead time

About 1 year old. It cycles nice and even when i raise the RPMS with a little bit of throttle. Not sure what is going on with the wideband it doesn't seem to want to stay anywhere but lean unless i am on the throttle. I did properly calibrate it.

No not really. This doesn't seem to be as jerky as a misfire. The idle speed is fairly constant, but the motor noise (you should be able to here it) definitely does not sound right.

One last thing - You noted you are running

4). Ignition system
COP or Stock Coil: Stock
Wire brand and Age: LC2 - 0 Miles
Spark Plug brand, type and Gap: NGK BPR5es

Is there a reason you are running a spark plug one step hotter than stock? You should be running BPR6ES. Typo?

I went to check the mechanical timing using the underdrive pulley. With the cam dowels both at 12 o'clock and the timing marks on the teeth even with each other, the underdrive timing mark was at 15* BTDC. I have heard that they can spin, but i decided to tear it down to the belt anyways. Upon opening the timing cover, i found that the balance shaft belt, crank pulley, and oil pump timing marks were ~15* off when the cam dowels were at 12 o'clock and the marks aligned (see attached picture). I re-timed it via the vfaq (this would be the 4th belt i have put on 2 different 4g63s and the other ran fine). and am fairly confident that it was timed correctly.

I don't mean to doubt you but I honestly feel like your timing is off. The car is idling rather decent but sounds like my car running Kelford 272's. Can you bring your motor up to TDC and take a photo of the cams for me?

I know right?

I am starting to second guess myself at this point, it is such a pain in the ass to tear it all down again, and I am confident i did it right. I might have to go back in just to be sure.

Pictures are attached. I know the pulley isn't the ideal place to base TDC off of, but the pulley agrees with the timing mark and it still has the roll pin to keep it aligned.

Your cams look like they are off.

There are four hashed marks on the cams, if you lay a ruler down they should all line up. You can't even see the other two.

The more I look, the exhaust is retarded one degree and the intake is advanced one degree. Don't worry about it. Mistakes are made but this is an easy fix. Just take your time and make sure you have something on hand as a straight edge to check cam timing.

I am a dumbass.

Looking at it now after what you said, it was timed right before I touched it. I will redo the timing (right this time -no pun intended), and left you all know how it turns out.

At the very least I have a good basis of how to dial in the idle now!

Got it all apart and back together again. 39 teeth between the marks and everything else seems spot on. Fired it up without accessories and let it run for about 45 secs, seemed to do great. Will definitely need some idle adjustment and mafcomp etc. Boost gauge no longer jumping. Timing mark pictures are attached. I will post a hot idle tomorrow after everything is dialed in.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

Runs so much better.

Log is attached. A little bit of tweaking for LTFT Lo and AirperRev, but pretty close.
