Does anybody know if u need to have both vaccumm nipples hooked up on the Tial 40mm? i have a nipple is the side port and nothing in the top port and i am using a MBC and i can only get 2-3 psi of boost and i have no idea why. there are no leaks, turbo is brand new and i ran out of ideas? is there a way to check the wastegate for proper functioning? Please help

Are you sure you installed the fire ring correctly. If upside down the fire ring won't seal to the piston inside the wg and it won't seal. It will fit in upside down though.

The wastegate has to be open, when you go WOT does it sound stuck? Erik I remember reading before of someone installing that fire ring upside down, your probably right.

yo, do you go to PCT? I am pretty sure I've seen your car on campbell st. Theres a few of us dsm'ers around, if you see an identical car to yours with a fmic, stop me ;)

Yes i go to Penn Techa and i do live on Campbell St. Is that the pic of your car? We have DSM meets some days if ur interested.

There should be vaccumm coming out of the MBC going to the Wastegate correct? Because i have no vacumm going to the Wastegate from the boost controller which should be the problem right? :talon:

There will not be vaccumm on the outlet of a mbc if its working right. If you want to test it that way hook up a boost leak tester and when it reaches your "set" boost then air should start blowing out of the line out of the mbc and once the pressure drops below the "set" boost then the air should stop coming out of the line.

i checked the MBC and its working fine but i still am only getting 1-2 psi of boost. The Tial Wastegate that i am using i bought used so could that be the problem? Is there a way they get stuck and can cause this problem? How can i fix it or check to see if its working or not?

If you haven't done a boost leak test do so. You could check the spring in the wastegate to see if there is any malfunction with it. You would have to take off the top portion of the wastegate diaphragm.
