Recently took out my transmission to replace my clutch and encountered a few problems. The first was prior to me taking out the transmission the throwout bearing always squealed. When I took the old throwout bearing out it fits very firmly onto the fork when pressed on. I purchased a new TOB from Chrysler and it seemed to just float on the fork and falls off easily. My question is, is there something wrong with this TOB because the one that came with the clutch was just as loose on the fork. I honestly don't feel like using the old TOB. Some pictures and explanations would be great on how the actual placement is because I don't even know which way the TOB goes in now. Thanks!

Confirm first that the new throwout bearing you bought matches up with the old. Typically when you get a new clutch they come with a new TOB as well.

There should be 2 very small tabs on the edges of the bearing, be careful with those because they can break off easily. Even if they do go, its not going to hurt anything you can still use it. Basically pull the clutch fork down slide the bearing on and make sure the two tabs are in between the fork and the inside of the bellhousing. If you can picture that. Basically you want the tabs on the inside not facing out. It may take a few tries to get it, but rest assured it will go on.
