OK, so here's the scoop. I lost my license for a few weeks the other day, and in the anticipation of getting back behind the wheel of my Talon in about 3 weeks, I decided to go ahead and do all the maintenance and some upgrading while it's not being driven.

I've cleaned my intercooler, cleaned out the I/C pipes, took my turbo apart with the help of a friend and made sure everything was alright, replaced all the bolts to my exhaust manifold (some where broken), and other various measures, including most of the ones found in the Tech Guide on DSM Tuners. Very useful.

However, I'm preparing to grind out the ridge in the throttle body elbow, and I could use some help on the matter. Just some input from other members that have done this, and the outcome of it. Also, if anyone has any pictures of the actual ridge to sand in the the throttle body elbow, it would be much appreciated.

Also, oddly enough, before I was about to make this post I read somewhere else (not on DSM tuners) that someone actually ported their throttle body elbow. Is this possible? And if so does it serve any point whatsoever?

Thanks for your time guys.

Instead of going through all that trouble, I suggest locating a 2G elbow for $20 and be done with.

I would just get a new UIC pipe, most places throw in a MUCH larger elbow with the pipe. Should be able to find something under/around $100, and makes a pretty big difference in performance, plus you get to hear the turbo and intake a lot better, worth the $ all on it's own! The stock elbow is so dinky you will laugh when you see an "aftermarket" one. Then again you could just fab one up, get a 45* bend and weld on your flange. Local muffler shop should do it for $15 if you don't have/no anyone with a welder.

edit: ooh or what oldman said

I looked into both of those options. And I'm still considering going with the 2G elbow for now. But in about 2 months, (once Christmas is over and done with), I'm planning on upgrading to blow-thru.
