There are better things out there to spend 70 bucks on then this. Dont waste your money.

dont quote me on this but i think doug99rs told me that you should go with a TB no smaller than 60mm if you upgrade

my TB is at concept illusions right now
i originally had it bored to 52mm and powdercoated
and they did a great job but i decided i wanted to port and gasket match my intake manifold as well so i figured i would have it powdercoated also

the original powdercoating they did for me was great and the bore job was perfect here is a pic
they are charging 100 bucks for tb to 55mm and powdercoat and powdercoat the intake manifold

www.conceptillusions.com is their direct website

Baxsom- so you had both your TB and Intake Mani done for how much?

im just trying to figure out if it is worth it cause the car still has a warranty on it so im not completly sure if having both ported will void it or not.

it was 100 and some change to bore and powdercoat the TB the intake
i gasket matched the runners myself

i dont have it them back yet but i am assuming that the quality will be the same as in the first pic of the 52mm TB

no thats dont go over 60mm, if your NA that is. 60mm is the MAX for na unless youve got... no just stick with 60mm being the biggest LOL. you could go a little bigger, maybe 62 if you were turbo but your intake manifold is only so big.

did you have the TB ported before the turbo? if so did you feel a difference in power? when you say gasket matched the Intake runners what does that mean exactly ? is it actually ported or what? thanks for the help

gasket matching the runners is where you line the gasket up with the intake manifold bolts, then you fill all the metal showing on the inside of the gasket in with a marker, then you port away until the you remove enough material that the stuff with marker on it is gone. :thumb:

i think im burnt out from the monster math test i took tonight but i don't quite get it. so you line up the gasket with the bolt holes, then you do use a marker to mark it. is the gaskets holes to small or is it the actual runners that are. thanks for the help

no no you line it up with the bolt holes so you have a common point of reference if you ever get a chance to do the head. the gaskets are made so that the holes for the runners are a little larger then the runners. you port the runners so that the runners are the same size as the gasket runner holes

check out this thread under the tech article section

and all will be explained

i have read too many times that NA should not go past 55mm just because it kills low end
and throttle response
i have no personal experience because i didnt have mine bored out until after the turbo kit was on

but i would read up on it before i spent the money for a 60
