I'd say you got screwed. I have seen several 96-99 Turbo DSMs in the St Louis / Southern IL area in great running condition with mods going for less than $5000

I don't know about that, 43000 on an awd is pretty low, hell that thing could be on original rubber yet. If it is very well kept I think its a pretty good deal, I've seen clean awd cars go for upwards of 8000 with more miles on them.

I'm assuming that it has a 255lph walbro, and the "cc" is a typo, in which case, you don't need to upgrade. An adjustable fuel pressure regulator is suggested, but as far as the pump goes, that will do fine for the time being.

i bought a 1991 gsx 5 speed for a grand with a blown motor the motor has 550cc greddy injectors 16 g turbo new fuel pump fuel pressure regulator and gauge Catback Exhaust System and kby struts. the guy also sold me a motor for 200 bucks with new belts .the car does need some tlc it has some bad rust spots arond both fenders and the rocker panels.

Doesn't seem like a bad deal. If you just add up the aftermarket parts on the car, it's worth more than you paid for the whole car - so I think you made out pretty good!

You lucky SOB!! You dont need to replace the motor. timing belt and valves. Or if you want to buy a used head. ( I have one laying around with good valves in it.)

Pull the head and inspect the pistons. If they look good take the head off the motor you bought with the car and put it on. Saves you alot of work and time

My step-dad wants to strike a deal with me. I sell my 93 AWD and my Jeep, pay off the loan to my parents, and he will GIVE me 5k. I looked for awhile at cars around me and a days drive away. Found this one. Looks like it has the supporting mods for all the power adders.

Hey guys im looking at this dsm for sale and i have been talking to the guy for awhile now. He wants $4400 for it and its a 95 eclipse. It has the 420 engine with a turbo. The engine has been fully built with eagle rods, je pistons, ect. It is set to boost at 18psi right now. The interior of the car is super clean. Is there any downfalls to buying a boosted 420. I also have a 95 tsi awd talon that im working on. I was going to make the eclipse my daily driver while i finish up my talon. Can someone give me some feedback about this. Thanks

$4400 is a little high if you ask me. In Indianapolis there are a few Eclipses that are not bad looking for less than that. I'd see if he'll take anything lower than his asking price.

well he does the work himself and he has receipts for all the parts. he drove the car around how it is for a year until the transmission went out. and hes about to replace that for me with a brand new one. here some pictures of the car.

i think its a pretty good deal hes going to let me make payments on it for $400 a month for 11 months since im in the military and we going to make a legal contract and sign it.

I don't recommend doing that. And you should never let the fact someone is willing to let you make payments be a part of your decision on buying a car. Bad idea. If you just want a DD while building up your other car then I don't suggest going through all that. I'd seriously look at something a little cheaper, in your budget, and not something ready to "show off" in.

What is wrong with making payments on a car? i have never had any problems with it in the past! and im not to sure when my talon will be done cause there is alot that i want to do to it. so it could be awhile. and of course i would love to show it off =)... but who wouldnt? i was actually thinking of buying it for me and then building up my tsi for my brother so that when he gets his license then i can give the car to him as a gift.
