at the start of 2013 I replaced a lot of items along with my new Taylor Spiro pro wires! over a month ago I did a check at night and there arcing all over on pretty much ALL 4 wires! now there out of warranty just from when I bought them, have emailed them with pics and details and apart from the initial replys that asked questions ive not got any replys from them since!

they said it must be touching my manifold/header but when I sent pics I said HOW? anyway these only have about 3500 miles on them and have gone bad already so thats a waste of $90 and I dont know how long this was doing it for either!

so im not happy with there products and they suggested buying new ones! So i said only with a big discount but not had any replys from there on!

customer service was initially good but as soon as it got into details of it they did not want to know anymore so customer service overall sucks.

Since this ive gone to NGK as everyone says there great wires and many have had them on for years so thats what ive gone for. plus they have a limited lifetime warranty so thats good aswell so any arcing is covered from there terms and conditions!

Got any pics?

Were you running an ignition amplifier? (Dynatec, MSD, etc...)

Were the wires routed as they were from the factory?

Have they ever been exposed to oil or any other fluid?

here are some pictures i sent them. But I dont have pics of them arcing just of where they were arcing as my fingers will show you.

also to the other questions! NO on the ignition amp and No to stock routing. they were loosely tucked under my fuel rail as they were very long and if i had them going the same stock location they would sit up as they were that much longer! there longer then the 1G ngk wires which i now have in the same location as these

the first 3 pics show where the arcing was and the other 4 pics are to show there were no signs of wear of flat spots like they said there would be! ive seen many people run wires this way without issue so why these failed I have n idea!

A few things to consider:

1) Were you having any issues with idling and/or driveability related to ignition?

2) How did you determine they were arcing? Anything other than seeing dark spots on the insulation?

3) Those are the 8mm wires, right? If you ever try Taylor wires again, try the 10.4mm wires. I've been a Taylor dealer for a long time and I sell more 10.4s that anything else. I've also been running the 10.4mm Taylors on my car for a few years and haven't had any issues.

4) I would strongly recommend utilizing the factory routing with any wire set, and use some sort of loom that keeps the wiring from laying across the VC.

1. No not at all it did idle funny a few times but I suspected my coil pack was faulty last year but sorted its self out so just forgot about it till this January when we had alot of moisture in the air from ALOT of rain and it found its way in but would be ok when warm.

2. as above I checked my coil pack and found #2 coil arcing at the base then checked the rest of the wires at night and with water aswell so thats what made me check the wires aswell as i was doing the test anyway. since then have replaced with a brand new oem coil pack unit and its 100% perfect with no arcing anywhere! yay

3. yes there 8mm i went with NGK so will see how these get on, if these go funny in 1 year will either get warranty on them or just go COP and be done with wires!

4. I really would use the factory wire path but wires are just so long. there really not cramped the way I have them located. plus I got this to put over the new wires! http://www.performanceplusconnection.com/media/ecom/prodxl/Red Wire Sleeve.jpg

Most all arcing issues occur at the boot and it's usually due to corrosion between the terminal and the spark plug. When there is an issue with sparking through the wires themselves and through multiple locations, it's almost always an issue relating to a faulty ground and/or faulty coil pack. In most cases, you can change the wires to any other wire set and the problem will persist. Water always seems to make it worse and more apparant. If your issue is truely resolved, I would bet on it being the new coil pack that fixed it.

Either way, I'm glad you got it sorted out. Taylor does make a good product in general, don't hesitate to give them a try again some time down the road.
