just wonderin basic mods on a 2g gst spyder are needed to go from t25 to 16g before the actual turbo itself

the 16g is not a direct replacement turbo for the 2g eclipse. You need the equipment that comes in the 2g 16g install kit. Otherwise i didnt look at ur mod list but, the normal stuff before modding. Boost gauge, might want a boost controller, fuel pump rewire, and im forgetting stuff so ppl add to what i said :)

what mods ya should have or -- what people do anyways. ?

ya should have injectors,fmic,pump,s-afc ( assouming you allready have Exhaust and upgraded i/c pipes, bov and MBC )

most people chance it with fuel pump re-wire and thats about it.
( assouming you allready have Exhaust and upgraded i/c pipes, bov and MBC )

full exhaust, ic pipes, intake(with pipe), mbc, boost gauge, 190 fuel pump, oh and youll need a clutch cause the stocker wont take the power. Keep the boost 15psi or lower if you have a fuel pump and 11 or lower without one. If you dont have a pump then leave the turbo off...from what rre says 17psi with a pump on 93 octane will work but I wouldnt recomend that.

I consider all of these necessary:

DSMLink
190 Pump
motor mounts
strut tower bar
650 injectors
2100 clutch
uip
1G bov
full exhaust
intake

Then you'll have a badass t25 with some advanced timing thanks to dsmlink until you slap on that 16G and make some real top end power :D
