Alright I did a quick search to see if anyone has posted up any real reviews on these products. All I got were two threads of people asking how they were from about a year ago. Well the products have been out for awhile now and still no one has posted any reviews? I will be receiving the Synchronic blow off valve in the next week or so and I will post a review...but before I do has anyone else ran one of these?

Also the Synapse wastegates. I plan to run a 40mm Synchronic gate (comparible to a 38mm Tial) as soon as I have the funds. A friend of mine received a 50mm gate and will be testing it on the dyno within a week or so with a gt42r sized turbo.

Just trying to get an updated thread on these products and if anyone has ran them. I will just update this thread when I receive mine with some pictures and first hand experiance. Anyone got anything?

I have used them before. They work just fine. The built in boost control is really neat. I will have Twin 40mms whenever SLS gets done with my manifold.

I received my Synapse BOV but the car is currently taken apart (damn rear main seal)...but when I get it back together I'll take pictures and give up some info on how it works. I run the stock 2g maf and will be re-circulating it. It's a tight fit with the SSAC FMIC and piping, but I managed to get it to work.

This weekend I'll hopefully be building my manifold and also running a Synapse 40mm wastegate. We will see how things go, but regardless I'll keep this thread updated.

Thanks for the response guys.

So is there anymore info out there on the BOV's yet? I've heard they are great & I've heard they are garbage. For the guys that are running them recircualted, do you get any flutter & if so under what conditions? My SSQV basically flutters all the time & honestly not a huge fan of this BOV when recirculated (though vented is another story).

It looks to me like this BOV (like the stocker) doesn't seal while under vacuum (they recommend using a filter when being vented & believe there "anti stall" kit is to be used when venting to seal it up). Does anyone think this is an issue or not?

It didn't seal at idle for me either, which causes really poor throttle response from idle. I had a evo16g on my car and it just didn't seam to open enough even for the little 16g. Sounded more like a pop then a whoosh. Then I switched to a gt35 and it definatly didn't open enough.

Since i've swapped out mine they have sent out a new "installation guide" saying to connect a direct boost (from turbo outlet/etc.) to the side nipple on the housing. They say it will cause faster reaction time and the valve to open a lot further. I never tried this because I had taken the valve off before they sent out the new guide.

Also if you are looking to try this Bov, I still have mine. It's basically new. I ran it for probably a month before i switched to a Tial. Let me know if your interested.

I remember seeing the video demo on this BOV side by side with HKS and tial units, it appeared to work MUCh than both and looked to have alot of promise. That is really too bad they are not working quite as advertised............any one know if these issues are with the BOV and wastegate or just the BOV?

Even if their video's did show comparisons against other real BOV's, its not hard to make an adjustable BOV not work properly for the benefit of making yours "look" better. It seems as though these sold pretty well in the GB that was just running, so hopefully we will see some more first hand reviews in the near future.

I just recieved mine on friday from the GB. Don't have it on the project car yet but it's definately a beautiful piece. Was missing an o-ring however so I had to pick one up from the hardware store.

They also tested their bov off the car while the competitions was on the car. You would think the engine vaccum through the ic pipes would slow them down. Of course it will open faster when not installed and vaccum on both sides of it.

Just to update this thread a little bit.

I had the Synapse BOV laying around for awhile, and needed something else besides the stock BOV on my Evo. I threw it on and hooked it up according to their "new" install instructions. It actually preforms pretty well. Boost is retained all the way to redline (stock bov wouldn't allow that) and I have no signs of flutter/surge. It actuates very quickly and sounds pretty darn good in my opinion. I have it recirculated of course so I don't have any vented experience with this one, probably never will either.

Just to give a quick update.

*Cliffs*: installed on the Evo according to new instructions, works fantastically.
