My talon has a squeaking noise in the drivers side rear when hitting a bump or even putting weigh on or getting in the car. How do I know if it's springs or shocks? What can I test to figure out what it is. I tried some searching but nothing relevant came up. Thanks - Alex

My talon does the same thing. For me, it is the rubber boots that separate the strut from the strut mount. Try loosening up that strut from the top and reposition the boots then tighten everything down again. If is sounds more like a loud squeak, it is more than likely your strut. Orielly's has them for $50 or somewhere around there.

old cars have squeaks. Do what the previous guy said, or get the weight off the suspension and power wash your shock setup. Then spray everything down with wd-40 or similar. Make to sure to get it into all of the rbbing parts. If your parts are really old then it's probably just deterioration(i.e. dry or rotted parts).
