Being in a bit of a rural area, the roads around here aren't the best. Being 18 years old and dumb, I like driving fast on them. I was wondering what kinda of suspension set up would be good at soaking up pot holes, washboarded roads, etc. Not totally making them seem like they aren't there, just enough that I won't rattle my brains out. And I want something that could take a landing. I'm not PLANNING on jumping my car, but I don't want to be afraid to get airborne.

Thanks,
Sawyer

Wow. LOL Stick some adjustable shocks on your stock springs and you should be set for getting airborne.

+1. Also get new ones of the rubber bushing that go at the top. Basically, you DO NOT want to lower it at all. You want the stock springs, with fresh spacers at the top, with some adjustable shocks. You want as much travel available, and you'll just have to play with the shocks to get them how you want them. If you make the fronts softer than the back, it could help get a little more of the 'dirt rally drifting' feel, but be careful about turning the shocks up or down too far.

Dear lord I hope you are doing this where you won't hit anyone else. Slowing down gets to be a bit of an issue as you probably already know.

That said, if you're getting airborne you really aught to have a full cage that goes through the firewall to the towers with added steel on top of the towers to take the beating. There is a GVR4 on here that is prepped for rally racing. You should check it out. Also, please be safe and don't go killing anyone riding their bike around a blind corner or something. If you really like rallying check out some rally cross in your area. See if there are any rally teams you can go hang out with. Keep it safe and legal :)

I don't know if Ray Peters is on here much anymore but you can try shooting him a PM as he's done a lot of rally stuff. If you ask really nice he might give you some info.

you NEED this setup

The plan isn't to go search for jumps. The plan is to have suspension that could take a landing if it needed too.

I'd go with a proven setup, there are plenty of rally racers still running 1g's. Most are about 1" above factory ride height for dirt sections. Track one down and ask them, or do it the easy was and call RRE since they've set up quite a few in the past. Hell there's even video of them jumping a dsm out in their parking lot on their site somewhere.
