I've already tightened the hex bolts that supposedly cause the rattle with no real result. The problem, to me, seems that on the rear UNDERside of the sun roof, it is metal on metal. I'm not the first owner of this car, so I was wondering if there is supposed to be any kind of rubber/foam spacer between the sunroof and the top. (I'm not referring to the sunroof weather stripping around the outside of the sunroof)

on our cars they all rattle . what i do is try to get the slack out of the cables by pushing the open button just a little . that should get rid of the noise.

After reading some articles on dsmsource, I might try putting a thick velcro or other cushion on the rear side of the sun roof. Will report back

So I came home and fixed my rattling roof. Just in case anyone has similar problems, here's how I fixed it. It seemed like my sun roof rattled from the rear side, and I could move it half an inch if I pushed it up and down. (While the sun roof was supposed to be closed). I took a piece of cardboard and placed it under the rear side of the sun roof and then closed it. I could no longer move the roof up and down.

So I got some black gorilla tape, cut strips of cardboard, and placed them on the contact point between the car and the sun roof (on the rear side). [To clarify, the tape/cardboard was placed on the car, not the sun roof]. After everything was taped down, I closed the sun roof and have no rattle.
