I just picked up a 90 TSi, I haven't had a 1g with a stock boost guage still in it. What should it be reading at idle? I have heard that they are junk, but where should it be.

All turbo 1G's come with a stock boost gauge right with the RPM's. It should be reading below zero at idle since it is running off vacuum. They arent really junk, its just that they are not really accurate as an aftermarket boost gauge.

x2 its really inaccurate and you should definately hit up the aftermarket if you were to up the boost at all.

I guess I should have stated this better. I had a 1g and before and removed the tach with the boost guage and put in a NA tach so that I didn't have the stock boost guage, since I had an aftermarket boost guage. I have this car I picked up for 500 bucks and I am just going through it so I can sell it.
