My clutch pedal is stuck on the floor. I have not driven my car in some time, and just went through an engine swap with a 41k mile donor engine with the factory clutch included on the engine, and it looked to be in very good condition. Basically what happens is I push the clutch pedal down halfway or so and then from there it will just go on its own and cling to the floor. The car still goes into gear and stuff just really rough and everything. The clutch pedal just keeps sticking to the floor every single time. Not sure whats really wrong with it. Anyone had this problem?

Just checked. The boot inside my car for the master cylinder has fluid leaking around it. Time To replace?

if your master cylinder is leaking then air is getting in there so it will stick to the floor. So yes it is time to replace it, but you also need to replace the slave cylinder on the transmission as well. I didn't when i replaced my master cylinder at first and it caused the slave cylinder to go bad so replace both at the same time.

yup
Replace master and slave cyl's and then bleed the clutch and adjust it properly.

You should be good to go after that.

I was scared when i read the title that you were going to say it was happening when you made a left turn, but good for you its all in the hydraulics!!!

I don't get it, I replaced my master with a brand new one as well as bled the clutch for at least a half an hour now. And my clutch pedal is STILL stuck on the floor. Here is a video of what I mean by "stuck on the floor". Thanks.

On 1G cars there's a small hole drilled halfway up the clutch pedal where you can hook one end of a spring. The other end goes up under the dash to a small tab. I think that is the setup that DSM used for the non-turbo cars. It's a foolproof way to be sure the pedal comes up.

On the turbo cars there's a coiled spring to the far right of the pedal assembly that is supposed to do the same thing but mine never brought the pedal all the way up. It was also blocking access to the clutch adjusting rod. So I cut that coiled spring off and just use a straight spring. It's been working great for over 6 years.
