I have read the other posts with similar topics, unfortunately they don't really apply with my situation it seems.
When I first got my 97 GST, during the winter, I hit a patch of ice while turning right at slow speeds and the car slid into the curb, wheel still cocked to the right. It wasn't a hard hit by any means, but it did cause a bubble in the wheel and bend the rim.
I brought the car a week later for some well needed work, including front struts and alignment.
When I got the car back it was pulling to the left and made a loud rubbing noise ONLY over 55 MPH. I figured the alignment was done wrong and brought it back to the mechanic. He put it up on the alignment machine and showed me the alignment was perfect, suggested the hit may have bent my frame.
I brought it to my friend's body shop and had him put it on the frame puller and he told me the frame was in spec.
So long story short, this was like 3 years ago and car has been sitting waiting for my monetary situation to change. Well I have since started attending an automotive tech program and have decided I want to play with my Eclipse and am ready to do the work myself (there were other problems besides this that sidelined the car, like a walking crank, but that's been resolved).
The rubbing and the pull is obviously still there, and under the same conditions. Tho it is interesting to note that over 100 MPH last I remembered the noise and pull became less noticeable (I was young and stupid and this was 3 years ago, no lectures please).
A quick check on the suspension in the area does not show anything obvious that may be wrong. I have no idea what could be causing this, any suggestions would be appreciated.
