I start to feel the vibration around 40mph. As the speed goes up it get more intense through the steering well and you can hear it too. The weird thing is that when I go through a left turn, even a very slight turn, the vibration goes away. The trans was just rebuilt (professionally) a little under 2000 miles ago. Im hoping its either and axle or wheel bearing. The car has 127xxx miles on it. Thanks in advance

Chris

Start by checking the wheel bearings for play as well as inspecting everything around it like ball joints, tie rods, axles, etc.
Also look into imbalanced wheels or defective tire if the above gets you nowhere

Most likely a wheel bearing. See if there is any up and down play in the front wheels.

Thanks for the quick responses guys! I do know that the right tie rod is loose. It just barely passed inspection. I dont think its that since the vibration increases with speed. Any idea on the cost of a wheel bearing replacement? The wheel bearing is my best guess too. I can imagine the additional wear on them from larger, heavier wheels.

EDIT: Answered my own question. Found these. I just did the same thing with my Jeep not too long ago. The hardest part was getting that rusty old axle nut off.
