Stock TSi running lean and knock

So I have a 94 AWD TSI that had been sitting for a few years. I posted a couple weeks ago about my fuel pump problem. Well I got that fixed and everything was gravy...car started and sounded good. Well one day I started it and it was missing, only two cylinders firing. So I reset the ecu and everything was fine again.

Well last night I finally got the tires taken care of and reg. and insurance on it, so i could take it for a ride. When I got back, I noticed a loud knock around 2k-3K. Sounded like rod knock or piston slap. The car is 100% stock and has 156k on it. I pulled the plugs and they all appear to be running lean. I don't have a logger or anything like that, nor do I know how to use one. I just can't figure out why all of a sudden the knock appear and it started running lean. Even after I started it the first tim after sitting so long, it didn't do that.

Can someone please help?!? I'm about to give up on the car and sell it, but I really don't want to!!

What did the plugs look like to make you think you were running lean? What color were they? Were you beating on it at all before this happened? Still running stock boost levels?

You said you let it sit for a really long time. Did you change the oil and prime the engine before you started it?

The plugs were pretty white. I am still running stock boost. Stock everything..I mean everything! I have changed oil and also put a bottle of Lucas in it. It has run for approx. 2 hours total before the knock with no problems.
