So i have a 96 Gs-t i have everything pretty much together only problem now is that the starter isnt engaging at all when i turn the ignition switch i hear the fuel pump but nothing from the starter. i got the starter test turned out good, battery good , clutch pedal switch i tried not holding it then holding it i have no clue what i could be please help me thank you.

If you had the starter checked while off the car insure you have the power wire reconnected. my clutch switch is finicky,if I press it at just the right angle it starts. otherwise nothing.... its like my built in kill switch

so u think its a faulty clutch switch?

Its def a possibility. if your batt, alt, and wires are good and hooked up right what else can it be. id see if you cant get a used switch off a junkyard car.

A missing ground from the starter will cause it to do nothing but heat up when you try to start the car. Make sure there is a ground near the bell housing.

Why dont you bypass the clutch switch? Or take a wire from the battery to starter solenoid? You could also get a multimeter and test the ign wire that goes to the starter. Its a Black wire with a Yellow stripe. It should be located under the thermostat housing, if your wiring is stock. It will have a 2pin connector but only 1pin is used between the engine harness and the starter harness.

When you test that wire, with the key on start you should get 12+v. Anything less you have an issue in the harness.
