Ive started my A/T to M/T conversion today, only worked on it about 3 hrs but so far easier than expected. Im up to installing the clutch pedal. Already got the brake out, and the shifter assembly in.
But my question is (ive done tried searching but i cant seem to get straight results): Do i need to find a tcu out of a M/T car or will mine work, Do i have to remove the A/T wiring harness, and the top holes for the clutch bracket under the dash are there right? just covered up. The shift cables, between the two are there any differences or can they be switched around.

Any help or links to threads is appretiated thx

1. You dont need the TCU anymore, leave it plugged in or take it out it wont make a difference.

2. Leave the wire harness there.

3.You should only have to cut one hole for the rod to go through. the bolt holes are there.

4. I think the cables are diff. Im not sure, I replaced mine with M/T ones.

I worked on my conversion again today, started at 2pm and called it a day around 5pm. ive been working on the conversion for a total of six hours so far and all i have left is to hook up the shift cables, and swap the trannies themselve. I installed the cluth pedal today, PITA but not too bad. DREMEL is my god! It was perfect to get in the tight spaces and cut out the holes.

Well I guess im just tryin to give out positive feed back about the job, any bodie that has experience and knows what there doin shouldnt have a slighte bit of a hard time doing it.
When I was researching doing it I kept hearing "dont even bother".
