When i turn the car on, for the first 30 seconds - a minute the belts squeak a bit. Any idea how to fix this? Any input is much appreciated. thanks!

My car wasn't driven for about 2 months. When I came back to it, it did that in the cold. However, it seems to have stopped on it's own... Weird, but I'm not complaining. =)

Well up until saturday night around 1130 I had the same problem. Then I ended up snaping my alt/water pump belt, got towed home by my brother and replaced the belt. Now the squeaking went away. First time we started the car up it was there for like 10-15 secs now nothing at all. Just got to mess with the belt until everything runs nicely. Its not like its that hard to adjust the belt!!!!!!!

Yeah just tighten the belt, you will be good to go.:thumb:

Wish it were that simple. This has been a problem plaguing me ever since I bought the car. It goes away all summer (except when it rains) and when winter hits, it squeals up until the car warms up. Just get use to it. I have replaced the belt, tightened it, cursed at it, and even negotiated with it. It's just no use:D

i had all the belts changed, then the alternator belt started to squeel on startups, tightened it and it went away for a month, then the alternator was tested at only 9v's on load, i was told the squeeling was from the alternator having to work so hard...which made sense, i installed a new alternator, checked everything...belts, pullys, etc...tension...no more squeel....loved it.

the squeel is now back after 3 days...it's awesome. i just figure it's a cool sound dsm's make to let everyone know our cars are fast...it's like a "bov" for the ignition or something?...

My friends always tell me when the squealing starts up that my car is like my b*tch. LOL. I don't need a girlfriend cuz that's what my car is for. I love the thing to death, but it just won't shut up!
