Sputtering problem

I've been having a problem with my 98 spyder gst. After I drive it for 1-2 mins it starts to sputter really bad. it will still accelerate it's just really slow, but it will not stop sputtering.When I turn the car off and let it set for a few mins it'll runs fine for a min then it does the same thing again. It's kind of like it's running rich because when it starts sputtering and I let it ideal and rev it up it will back fire some of the time. Help please! Idle air control. A bad ECU could also cause this.

Well the ecu I think is ok because the guy I bought the car from got Dsmlink on it about a month ago and had it sent of to get socketed.IAC some on dsmlink I can adjust or what?
