Spoiler suggestions for a spyder?

What's up? I'm really stoked.. just worked a deal for a '98 GST spyder. Its got a few upgrades, nothing major, Cold air intake and a K&N, BOV, and exhaust... The first thing I want to do is change the spoiler. The previous owner bolted on this really cheesy pep boys aluminum wing. :thumbdown I'd like to remove it and install a GSX style (the 9" high one that looks like a half moon cresent)

Will these fit on a Spyder????? I need to know before I buy one!

I just found a pic of a spyder with that spoiler.... it just doesn't look right. Any other suggestions? Where can I get one of those lip-style spoilers?

I'll be picking up a '98 GS-T spyder on Thursday. the previous owner removed the factory spoiler for a big gawdy aluminum wing (can you say rice?). I can't stand it and I'm going to remove it ASAP. I want to find a stock 3-pc one, because the clean factory look is hard to beat.. or possibly something other than stock that looks good... I was thinking maybe even a GSX or GST high spoiler... but then I saw a pic of a spyder with one and I think it doesn't look quite right with the top down.

Is the Spyder 3 piece spoiler any different than the factory GS one? Were the spyder ones specific or special somehow? Or are they completely identical?

Please post suggestions for an aftermarket spoiler that might look good on a spyder if you have any ideas..

those 3 peice spoilers are all the same, rs, gs spyder. i think those look good, they dont disturb the lines of the car while the body is down.

There is a guy around here that has a turbo spoiler on his spyder and it looks nice. Just do whatever you think looks best man, its your car.

Check out wings west (www.wingswest.com) They have a few of the factory style spoilers among the park bench wings.

The spyder 3pc spoiler is different from the RS,GS 3 pc spoiler.

The spyder has its 3rd brake light mounted in the trunk lid and the spoiler does not house the 3rd brake light.

Whereas the RS, GS spoiler house the 3rd brake light.

Does your car have a black top? If so I think the CF duck bill from Importfan would look good on a Spyder. Here's a pic.

How about a drag wing? I wish I would have gone that route sometimes. Wings like mine have a lot of good angles, but look like crap from some too.

both are aerogear wings.

Syndicate 13: My car is black with a tan top... and I dig the look of that carbon fiber spoiler... that would look dope, esp. with black paint and maybe a CF hood too. Damn CF stuff is hot, but $ure i$ $pendy!!

It looks like the same shape as the blue aerogear one 9d9 Mitsu posted just above... that style is probably my fav aftermarket style and I can't remember when I even saw one on a car... so it must not be common at all. 9D9 Mitsu, where'd you find those aerogear pics? Can you post a link for more info on that wing?

I've also found some pics of this guy's car which I am thinking looks pretty cool.. esp. it being a factory part... it appears to be the factory high turbo wing on his spyder:

I might go this route, or if I can find a stock low 3 pc. one for spyder (without the 3rd brake light) then maybe I'll just put it back to stock, those pics of the black car above look awesome! but then again its fun to have something a little different... but it has to look good, not to the point of gawdyness

Because some people think that "more is better" no matter how ugly or ricey it is. Same goes with Euros.

The best looking spyder I've seen so far was Wingless. I was looking to buy this for my Girlfriend But the price was to high, and I thought there was more then likely something internally wrong with the motor.

I'd go ahead and shave it off. I have the spoiler shaved on my Spyder and it looks awesome, so clean, you won't get "airplane taking off" comments or anything, plus it highlights the low and wide look of the unique spyder quarters and trunk (unique as opposed to the hatch).

I think that a fiberglass wing with steel poles looks very good. someone I know has a 3g spyder and he has one and it looks awsome...It looks like a streched out "H" with steel poles that come down from the middle of the H to the trunk...but factory is very nice also but If you want something different I think they look the best
