well this all started about 2 days ago and since then i had the wiring out and i been checking fuses, wires, etc. from what i can see there is no power to the speaker wires as my test light didn't light up on either side of wire. the speakers are still stock with an aftermarket pioneer premire head unit. and since then i added a pioneer premire amp with a 10 inch sub the speakers have worked with the headunit and amp and sub for months with no problems. but just the other day my amp broke i tried to fix it and the circuit board got cracked when i put it back in the unit my friend tried his amp on my system and as he was hooking it up all of a sudden all the sound just stopped. no crackles no nothing just the bumping sub and its been this way since then. the headunit works great and everything is still functional just no sound from the speakers.

anybody know possibly what is wrong any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance

Well since you hooked up a powered amp while your system was running. It’s likely you've blown your internal amp inside the head unit.

You should never hook up new audio stuff when your system is powered.

Your pre-outs (sub hookups) still work because they bypass the internal amp.

You're probably over you head here, take it to a car audio place and get them to bring a multi-meter out to your car to correctly deduce the problem. But from what you have provided I think you blew up your HU amp.

i will have to agree if it stopped when you hooked up ## amp you blew the internal amp but don't fret you can buy another amp and hook up your factory speakers to it. to make things easeier run the amp speaker wires to the behind the head unit cut the exixting speaker wiring and hook up your amp wires to your wiring harness then you don't have to worry about running wires in your door.:talon:
