Hey, I have a problem. Just installed my turbosmart b/c, 255lph pump, and 680cc injectors. When accelerate really hard, my car feels like it's hitting a brick wall when I get around 12/13ish psi of boost. I don't know what fuel cut feels like, but is that it? I have a safc2 but it's untuned. Just wondering if it's the tune i need or something else....Please help. :cry:
 
It could be the lack of an aftermarket fuel pressure regualtor. Since its still running on the stock regulator and you have the bigger fuel pump and injectors. A good tune wouldnt hurt either.

to be exact....the car TRIES to go past 10psi and gets up to actually like 12/13ish as he said and then drops down to 8-10 psi...but then again as he said it like hits a wall and then tries again and again....im thinkin MAYBE safcII has something to do with it? and i thought but not sure if its a boost leak or not...

it has an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator....set @ 40psi
 
its most likely just a big boost leak. even w/ an upgraded fuel system, a boost leak can cause your boost to be unstable. do you have an aftermarket boost guage? if not, get one. watch it to while you accelerate hard to see it creeps up to 20psi or more, if it does, then a boost leak is what you have, and it will slam you back like you said.
 
It feels like hitting a wall though, a boost leak that severe could only be like an intercooler pipe blown off. I was thinking maybe I am running really rich and I'm drowning the spark plugs...
 
well check your plugs then, my car was doing the same thing a while back and my car was actually running a bit lean, not rich. before you go on snapping back at like this, check your basic things first. check your plugs for rich/lean condition. and check for boost leaks, you can hear a boost leak by a hissing sound.

Also next time, please use a more descriptive title for your problems

When you said that the SAFC is "untuned" do you mean that you have made no changes to it and that it is zeroed out???

If not, what are your baseline settings on the SAFC?

Do you have a logger? What are your FT's.

It sounds like you are hitting fuel cut.
 
Well, it's untuned to the sense of the fuel upgrades I have done. I did the initial set-up on it, but that was before the injectors and pump. I having it tuned saturday I'm just tryin to figure out if the tune will fix the problem or if it is possibly something else....




Also, to the previous post, I didn't want to write a big description to save people from having to read all of it.... :thumb:
