Hey guys.

I was there today (friday) and here's what they got if you need it:
Several 2G MAFs (3 Diamantes)
Three sets of dual piston calipers (Again, those 3 diamantes)
They got about 7 1Gs (1 turbo (no engine) , 3 2.0 N/Ts and 3 1.8 N/Ts with engines)
1 2GA GST with no engine.
and lots of gallants and mirages (not VR4s duh)
One of the 1Gs has blue, (what seems like ebay) coilover springs, all four. 450lbs fronts, 350lbs back.
Enjoy.
Again, it's Richmond Pick-n-Pull.

hmmm. do you know what they would charge for a set of DP calipers???
I might have to stop over there when im at your shop this week to pick some up.

I'm so ditching that big waste of space. I never use cruise control, I think mine doesn't even work, and to top it all off, even if it did work, it only goes to like 92 mph or something, how useless is that?

LOL

I think dave is rubbing off on me. What, camaro headlights drop weight? sure, I'll do that. change the throttle cable to get some more weight out? sure. I want to get some regular seat belts too. drop some weight in the roof and lower my cg.

Thanks for looking out, Paul. Do any of the 1.8's have manual steering? I don't need it, but someone out there might want to save some weight, free up some room where an external wastegate might go, and get rid of one power robbing belt. :)

Honestly, I didn't pay attention to that, but I'm sure there were. All 1.8s had engines in them.

By the way, if anyone goes out there, steal me an non-power antenna (just the stem). Shop is only like a mile away from the yard, so drop it off ### :rocks:

Almost forgot! They also have a Q45 there with the throttle body still intact!

........... I really want a 1.8 that runs to replace the minivan... I wonder if either of those 1.8s had running engines... did one have a lot of rear body damage? that would be funny, I pick up both of them and swap the engine from one to the other.

did you see any colts?

There was one 1.8 with alot of rear end damage. I think it was red. And there were a few colts, all were NA.

How much are you looking to spend?
I'm constantly looking for good deals here and there, I can let you know if I find something for you.

I thought all colts were na alex....

anyways, Im not looking to spend that much, I would rather find a colt I could drive for a little while until we got all the money together to slap that 4g63 in it. Right now its looking at: rebuild, turbo, probably oil lines, oil pan, the head needs to be resurfaced on one of the cam holder thingys.... dunno what they are called, but its what the cams rest on. Maybe they are called the cam journals? flywheel, tranny, oil (I only put that there because thats what the guy who we bought the car from forgot LOL) and probably a few other things, so it will take some dough to get the car running. We would also need a fwd turbo ecu for a 90.

You're forgetting 4G61T, that would be turbo colt and mirage. They're the ones that accept 4G63 as a direct drop in.

As for the ECU, I got one '90 for sale. It's AWD, but there are no signifficant differences between AWD and FWD. Just a few spots on a fuel map are altered slightly. Nothing you would even feel.

oh yeah, the 1989 Colt GT, turbo dohc 1.6L. I'd love to find one being sold by a Little Old Lady (LOL) who only used it to drive to church on Sunday. I think Mike from RRE has one with a stroker motor in it. Total sleeper, invisible to cops.

I've got a fwd tranny that can hold all the power you ever need for this project that just happens to be for sale:sneaky:

Paul thanks for the offer I will try to swoop by the shop sometime this week, I will be starting(hopefully finishing) the awd swap this week.

Brian, i have a non cruise control throttle cable in my garage. I'll sell it to you for the $5 that i bought that splash shield from ya!

I hear you dave! I want an old grandma driven turbo colt that only went to church and safeway to get groceries.

Paul, i might come by tuesday or wednesday to bs for a minute and drop off those bearrings for you to sent back to slowboy. You're gonna hafta show me where the pick n pull is ### i think im gonna go get a set of calipers. OR, if i get the head for kris' car resurfaced for him by then i'll bring that by on wednesday and maybe roll with ya to the track....

Thanks, I already have a spare FWD trans. I also have plenty of stock DSM parts that I could swap onto a turbo Colt and upgrade it nicely. Did you know they don't have an intercooler? ick. DSM sidemount and pipes are bolt on. ECU plugs right in. AWD rear struts are a bolt on upgrade. Stock DSM parts are all upgrades, like the ex. mani, 14b, 450 injectors, stock maf, all that junk in my closet just waiting for a turbo colt to appear.

Yeah, no prob. Me and Alex are planning to hit up that pick-n-pull again anyway to find a good candidate for his methanol tank. (I ordered a kit for him today)
Not sure if i'll go to the track though. I got this nasty missfire I'm trying to chase down. Will see how it goes.
