i just got a 93 talon and i was pulling the tranny out to inspect due to shifting issues. It is an automatic and i noticed the torque converter and flex plate are painted blue? is that normal? i bought the car for 500$ n just wanted a fun winter car

also i was wondering if anyone could tell me what a fair price is for a 7 bolt 1g awd tranny and i got a transfer case for the same transmission but would like to know a fair market value

x2, a catch can has little to nothing with emissions. It is definitely beneficial for blow by (a major prob with boosted applications). If you run a vented catch can, it will also let your crank case breate better (more if you enlarge the vents) and you will have a much happier motor.

probably aftermarket torque converter! and try thedsmgraveyard.com they have alot of used good condition parts for a fair price i get alot of my stuff from there they always have what i need! that would be a good starting point

would this help even on a boosted 420a? im trying to build her back right

That's interesting. I wouldn't have expected the torque converter and flex plate to be blue. Try to research any numbers on them and find out if they are aftermarket. Also, I recommend a catch can as well if you have the money to blow. Almost any turbo car will have some blow by.

Running a vented catch can can possibly throw the afr's off a bit. I would recommended a sealed catch can with adequate sized hoses. All air going thru the motor is metered. Same idea with the bov. These are plumbed back in after the maf so the ecu is accounting for the air.
OP, Just do your research and understand what you are doing before you do it and doing 1 mod at a time is best. Also so you can see the results of each mod and correct any issues that come up that much easier.

Haha. I not saying there aren't painted torque converters in the world. I'm just saying that a factory one isn't and that he should check it out to see if he has a "performance" aftermarket one rather than a OEM reman.

really? i never knew this thats werid making the blue oem but then again they did throw in balance shaft which make crankwalk to anything is possible with dsm's i guess!
