Hi i have a 91 talon fwd turbo and it is throwing oil out of the back of the exhuast and smoking like no other, and when i got the car it did not smoke or anything just had a bad valve cover gasket.I have recently found out that it has a bad turbo seal could this be causing it or what?.Also did a compression test on it and cylinder 3 was reading a bit low. Please help me with this problem.

If your blowing oil out the hot side of your turbo, then yes you have bad turbo seals. As for the low compression reading, not all cylinders will be exactly the same, and without seeing the numbers of all cylinders it would be hard to see if there is a problem.

yes it is blowing out of the hot side of the turbo and it blowing oil out of the exhaust as well and cylinder was reading like 3 or 4 point below normal.I just need to know if i need to rebuild the head or just replace turbo seals.

Sweet!. Thought so because when i got the car it did not smoke a bit at all then it caught fire on me from bad turbo seal and burned up the harness real bad once i got that replaced it has been somking ever since and leaking oil from hot side of the turbo. What would you recommend on the which seals to get for it. Just a stock 14b but maybe just wan to go with a 16g evo 3 instead of getting new seals what would you do?.

max the 14b out? What do you mean exactly with that im still kinda new to the dsm scene.Which would be better money wise to do the rebuilt or just rbuild the one i have now and get a front mount intercooler for it?

get all of your supporting mods first, like a front mount intercooler, some kind of computer (buy a dsmlink if you have the money) that will make the 16g work, you can do all of them on the 14b and when your done you can upgrade

ok but right now you would recommend just getting new seals for the turbo and going with the front mount intercooler and get get the computer it done has the walbro 255 fuel pump.

Maxing it out as in pushing it past its efficiency limit. The sidemount is fine for the 14B. IF you have never replaced turbo seals I suggest you read up on it if you want to do it youself. It requires marking of the wheel in correlation to the shaft for proper balancing.

alright i will make sure i do that for sure. Thanks for the help and im glad that it is just the seals on the turbo and not the head LOL.

also what could be causing the milky substance to be on the oil filler cap when i opened it it had white stuff on there ### could be causing that?

Its just like condensation build up on your windows, but in this case underneath the valve cover. If you look at the oil on the dipstick and find it is milky there, then coolant would be mixing with the oil.

Well the Talon has broke on me and im wondering what it could be,when i go to give the car throttle it bogs and dont want to go and does not have any power and it smoking like no other. What could be the problem with this because i cant even get past 5 mph now.
