smoke comming out of the cat.

I recently took my car out for a run, and when i came back i noticed that it was smoking from the cat, it was a white smoke , kinda bluish thought, so i wasn't sure if it was coolent or oil. either way why is there smoke coming from the converter?can any one help identify the problem?thanks.

umm, do you have a catback?
or just downpipe and cat?
just curious how u suspect the cat and not the exhaust itself
