so i am having a violent shake on my car, the weird thing is , that it only does it sometimes, i took my front wheels off, and by hand shake all the suspension and steering components, but nothing moved out of the normal. all the bushings are pretty bad, the car sat for a whole 8 months during the winter, my passenger side cv axle inner and outter boots are torn. could all of this lead to the shaking??

You will have to change the CV shaft in time. You should have an alignment shop take a look and see if anything is indifferent.

:hmm: I suppose it could.

Can you give more info? Does it happen only at certain speeds, when under heavy or light loads(more or less gas pedal), while turning. Any information would help considerably.

I know one of my cars was doing that, turned out it had a once in awhile dead cylinder. The whole car shook like mad during light and heavy acceleration.

I myself had a wierd shake on my car. It was so bad I couldn't take it above 50mph. It was a distinct side to side shake, finally took it to the shop and when they dropped the left front drive axle it fell out in a bunch of pieces. Shop mngr said "that's it!" turns out he was correct and after replacement no more shakey shakey

yeah i only get the shake at around 55mph, weird thing is, it only happens after a while of driving, maybe like 30 min.into driving, its a side to side shake, the steering wheel turns into a paint shaker!!

It sounds like you could use a bushing kit from energy suspensions and replace all of your suspensions bad components. If it's doing it at certain speeds it likely to be a bad tire or bad rotors, the rotors get hot and warp more after driving thus it's fine when you first drive but gets worse after driving a bit. Belts on tires warm up too but if you have a broken belt in tire it will shake right away at certain speeds. I had really bad shakes at 50-58 then at 65-72, replaced front rotors and now it's smooth as glass.

If it only comes in at a certain speed it is a tire or balance related issue if it was suspension based the speed wouldn't matter get your wheels balanced somewhere that has a roadforce balance. Easiest way to tell without spending money would be to rotate the tires and see if it goes away.

I'm going with this. I had the same thing after my car sat for a long time. Rotors ended up warping and the car felt horrible. But I would start by rotating all the tires. Does the shaking feel like it is in the steering or suspension?
