sequential "relay" blinker problems help

ok well i have been trying to achieve the whole sequential blinker thing. Today i looked up how to do it, i bought the bulbs,cut well grinded off one nipple then i put them in the centermost sockets. At first it worked perfectly but then it stopped and i haven't been able to get it to work. I even bought new bulbs andf tried again but no luck. How do i get the lights to alternately blink??

I'm pretty sure you need to buy a special modulator to achieve this. Search the threads on this topic, I know it's around here somewhere.

well i was told i could get my binkers to work sequentiallly if i put a delay on one of them using a capacitor. Does anyone Know what type/ size capacitor to use?
