Sending unit yellow/blue wire. 1G awd.

Does someone know what the yellow/blue wire is for on the awd 1993 sending unit.
it goes to a condensor like thing on the sending unit.
is this for the low fuel warning light??
it uses 4 wires.
yellow - sending unit.
bl/white - 12 V for pump
black - ground
yellow/blue - ???

reason is because when changing tanks, this wire due to age cracked.
car is still not opperational (project) but I am very close to starting.
need to know what is is for and what kind of wire to use to replace cracked one.
any help will be appreciated.

Yes it is for the low fuel warning light.
