saw a Mustang Shelby GT 500!!! (Eleanor) pics and vids!

I saw a Shelby Mustang GT 500!! just like the one from Gone in 60 Seconds. I was driving, my mom was with me and she managed to snap a few crappy pics and one vid with my digital cam, . The turning signal lights light up in a dancing light pattern, so if youre turning left, they flash moving towards the left. Kinda hard to explain, thats why in one of the pics only part of the lights are lit up. Very cool though, and it was hella loud, seemed to be spitting out a little oil though, saw some blue smoke...how sad... Here's the link to the vid, check it out!!

I saw he was going the same direction, and after he zoomed by me i caught up to him, but later he took a different exit off the freeway. Shoulda raced him. :laugh:

My neighbor has one of those... it is a complete replica of the one from fast and the furious... its gorgous.. i dont think he's ever lost a car show.... i've only seen him drive it like once, and it was flying by the neighboor hood.. i dont think it ever sees the normal streets though..

Baby I think you meant Gone in 60 seconds.. Very nice work on that video. The person filming really knows how to work that cam corder. Nice shots. didn't see any smoke myself? I recently saw a show on TV about a shop that does custom builds for these Shelbys. They take the old bodys and restore them and mold them from scratch. Quite the demand for these after that movie.. But, yeah... WTF is up with that gas cap???

foose makes those now. They are getting all the old mustang bodies and converting them to GT500 clones like that. It's go alot of purists and collectors pissed off becuse they are starting to run dry

Its a Canon PowerShot SD100, which is actually a digital camera, but has a video function. The quality is awesome, but its only 15 FPS, which isnt great.

You guys do realize that the REAL Eleanor is a 1973 Mach 1 Mustang, not the '67 GT 500, they just used that car for the remake cuz it's more astheticly pleasing.

They make ALOT of replicas of that car... problem is, somethings wrong with this one and I can't put my finger on it. It looks like crap and I dont know whats different.

We have a some Shelbys running around my town (a few GT350s and one GT500, yes all are authentic) and they don't impress me that much. I have seen all of them in person and talked to the owners, the GT500 owner said the car wasn't very special in his mind.

I would much rather own a Boss of the same era (my neighbor had a 302 and that car was amazing). With all the replicas running around and graphics kits for the older Mustangs to imitate the Shelbys it makes them seem very played out and much less stunning when you see a real one.

There is a small company in north Texas in the middle of nowhere that makes those replicas. My neighbor has one. The shop (forgot the name) was on TLC a couple weeks ago.

Those are the only Rustangs I like, and I like it a lot. Well, I also like the '93 Cobra, but THAT'S IT!

earlier this year i had to get my tbird repainted(sideswiped), and i go to pick her up and the guys says its in the back. so we walk out back and what do i see? ELEANOR next to my car. i was speechless. the guy couldnt believe it that i could care less about my car and just went for the stang. he got a 67 fastback and did all the body work and got the ground effect kit and put it together and painted. had donuts and no engine, he said he wanted to put a 5.0 with a vortech sc in it, and he had the gt500 rims on the way.

a few months later im at a light and what do i see fly across the intersection? eleanor.


and about the chip foose thing, every so often you will get a glimpse of one eleanor clone in the shop getting done. if i were him id be making clones too, fvck the collectors/enthusiasts.

and youll realise once you watch the original G60S that our modern eleanor is much better. plus we have nawss.

I know what you mean, i've seen the AUTHENTIC replica made by shelby at a Barrett Jackson auto auction in West Palm Beach FL. about a year or two ago, went to visit my sister and just happened to have the auction at the same time so me and my dad went. But back to the car... yeah your right somethings wrong, i have video of the car at the auction, it was at a booth and they were taking orders for them, its a BAD ASS car. Anyways i'll see if i can find the video and i'll take a look at it, nice car though.
