Safc best mount spot?

I got an Safc and I have no idea how or where to mount it, I got the 1g Tsi any suggestions with pictures would be a plus. Thanks for the help

I like the AC vent mount as you can paint it balck and it looks like it was factory installed.

You can mount it anywhere but im a fan of the more sleek/custom installs. My favorite on a 1G is in the vent bezel or in the stereo din. I'll see if i cant scrounge up some pics.

I say mount it anywhere, but dont use no adhesive to hold it down. Say your ready to remove it for dsmlink or something the adhesive will eventually tear say you put it on your dash after a while. Speaking with the experience, even if you use a razor.

I have the mounting base on it. I have the base wedged under the center vents. It's ran so that I can pull the SAFC out (mount and all) and stick it in the glove box, and lock it if I wanted.

That is actually in the center console arm rest. You can tell by the seat belt buckles on either side.

Yeah. This is how mine's mounted in my 2g. I wanted to be able to put it out of plain view.

if i put mine in the vent during the winter when i have the heat up all the way it wont bother that thing or over heat it?

On a 2g, there's a little switch that turns that vent off.

Lower din - I replaced my 2 slot radio with a 1 slot and a pocket. I use velcro on the lower din. When I get out of the car, the safc goes in the pocket so you can't see it.

I think the din location looks best.

I would mount it in the trash can or on ebay...... But if you insist on using a SAFC then the lower din looks the best.

^^ I would mount it up above the rearview mirror if you don't want it to be too easliy seen for potential thieves.
